One of my favorite speaker manufacturers, Audioengine, has a UK supplier. If you're in the UK, try Ecodigital.

Snapstream is amazing PVR/DVR recording software (turn your PC into a Tivo). Record a show, burn it to a DVD, even put it on your iPod/iPhone with the latest version.

Blu-ray discs won't play thanks to DRM. Fox blames player manufacturers.

The Amazing Randi will give you $1 Million if you can hear the difference between $7,000 Speaker cables and a standard (still overpriced) pair of Monster Cables. Michael Fremer says he'll give it a shot, Audioholics says he might have a chance.

«» Digital Life Reviews: Microsoft Media Extenders and the low-cost Venturer HD-DVD Player (15:38)

Media extenders
: At $350, these need to drop down to $250 before they become an attractive option over just getting an Xbox (which does mostly the same thing, and plays games). Drop the price, and you have a hit. Check out Microsoft Media Extenders, and the specific units from Linksys and DLink.

Venturer HD-DVD: $249 price, but will hopefully drop to $199 by Thanksgiving. Looks to be a very solid player. Pre-order?

«» My Favorite TV Shows this Season (28:50)
What I'm watching...

Boston Legal - The Best Show on TV

House - Consistently Good

Dexter - Original and inventive, with great acting.

Brotherhood - The Irish Sopranos, though the characters are much weaker.

The Office - Awkward Funny.

Rules of Engagement - Patrick Warburton carries this series.

Prison Break - I think I may quit this one.

Jane's Addiction frontman's 2nd effort is among his best. This is one seriously underappreciated album.
